1 What EarnPath is
EarnPath is a calculator and a log for independent workers. You use it to:
- record the gigs you work, and the clients and rates that go with them;
- set up your own deductions and withholdings and see an estimate of what you keep, from gross to net;
- review statistics about your work and track savings goals;
- get suggestions based on your own records.
EarnPath does not pay you, does not move money, does not send invoices on your behalf, and is not connected to your bank, your clients, your employer, or any tax authority. Everything it shows is calculated from what you enter.
2 Estimates, not advice
The numbers in EarnPath are estimates to help you plan. They are not tax, legal, accounting, or financial advice, and EarnPath is not a tax preparer, an accountant, a lawyer, or a financial adviser.
Calculations depend on the rates, deductions, withholdings, and other details you enter, and on reference templates that may not match your situation or may be out of date. Suggestions are generated from your own records and can be incomplete or wrong. Check anything important yourself, and talk to a qualified professional before making decisions about your taxes, contracts, or finances. You are responsible for the decisions you make and for what you file, charge, or pay.
3 Your account
- Who can use EarnPath. EarnPath is built for working professionals and is intended for people 18 and older.
- Signing in. EarnPath has no passwords of its own. You sign in with your Apple or Google account, and your EarnPath account is created the first time you do. Use the same provider each time: signing in with a different one can create a separate, empty account.
- Keeping it secure. You are responsible for the security of your device and of the Apple or Google account you sign in with, and for what happens under your EarnPath account. If you think someone else has had access to it, write to support@earnpath.app.
- One person, one account. Your account is for you. Please do not share it or use someone else’s.
4 Plans and billing
EarnPath is free to use. Optional paid plans — Pro and Plus — raise the limits of the free plan and add features. What each plan includes, and its current price, is shown at my.earnpath.app before you subscribe.
Where you buy and manage a plan
Paid plans are sold and managed only on the web, at my.earnpath.app, where you sign in with the same Apple or Google account you use in the app. Nothing is sold inside the mobile app. Payments are processed by Stripe; your card details go to Stripe and are never seen or stored by EarnPath. Stripe’s own terms apply to how it handles your payment.
Renewal
A paid plan is a subscription, billed monthly or yearly depending on what you choose. It renews automatically at the end of each billing period, and your payment method is charged again, until you cancel. Any taxes that apply are shown at checkout. A promotional code, when one is offered, applies as described at checkout.
Changing or cancelling
- Cancel any time from the web portal. Cancelling stops future renewals. Unless you are told otherwise when you cancel, your paid plan stays active until the end of the period you already paid for, and your account then moves to the free plan.
- Moving to a lower plan takes effect at the end of the period you already paid for, so you keep what you paid for until then.
- When a paid plan ends, your records are not deleted. The limits of your new plan apply, so some items above those limits may be unavailable until you upgrade again.
- If a renewal payment fails, it may be retried. If it stays unpaid, the paid plan can end and your account returns to the free plan.
Refunds
Payments are not refunded automatically, including for the unused part of a billing period. If you think you were charged by mistake, or you have another reason to ask for a refund, write to support@earnpath.app from the email address on your account and we will review it case by case. Nothing in these terms takes away refund rights you have under the law where you live.
Price changes
If the price of the plan you are subscribed to changes, we will tell you before the change applies to you. The new price takes effect no earlier than your next renewal, and you can cancel before then.
5 Your data
Your records are yours. The gigs, clients, rates, deductions, goals, and everything else you enter belong to you. You give Al Ocaso Media permission to store, sync, back up, and process that information only as needed to run EarnPath for you — for example, to keep a copy available if you lose or replace your device, and to produce your calculations, statistics, and suggestions. We do not sell your data.
You are responsible for what you enter, including that it is accurate and that you have the right to record it. Please keep in mind that names of clients and venues you type are stored as part of your records.
You can export a copy of your records from the app’s settings. How your information is collected, used, protected, and deleted is described in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.
6 Acceptable use
Use EarnPath for its purpose: keeping track of your own work and money. Please do not:
- use it for anything unlawful, or to record information you have no right to hold;
- try to access another person’s account or data;
- probe, overload, or disrupt the service, or get around its security, plan limits, or billing;
- copy, resell, or redistribute the app or the service, or reverse engineer it, except where the law gives you that right regardless of these terms;
- use automated tools to access the service in a way the app and the portal do not.
If you find a security problem, please report it to legal@earnpath.app rather than exploiting it.
7 Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time: in the app, open Settings and choose Delete account. If you cannot open the app, write to legal@earnpath.app and we will handle the request after verifying it through your Apple or Google account.
- Your account is flagged for deletion immediately and you are signed out everywhere.
- If you have a paid plan, deleting your account cancels the subscription right away so you are not charged again. The remainder of the period is not refunded automatically (see Section 4).
- For 30 days the deletion can be undone in case it was a mistake. To recover the account during that time, write to legal@earnpath.app. A cancelled subscription is not restored.
- After 30 days your account and its records are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
Consider exporting your records first. The details are in the Privacy Policy.
8 Our app and brand
EarnPath — the app, the portal, the website, their design, text, and code, and the EarnPath name and logo — belongs to Al Ocaso Media and is protected by law. While you follow these terms, you may install and use the app and the portal for your own personal or business record-keeping. That permission is personal to you, is not exclusive, cannot be transferred, and ends when your account does. These terms do not give you any other rights in EarnPath.
If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them to improve EarnPath without owing you anything.
9 App stores
If you got the app from Apple’s App Store or from Google Play, that store’s own rules also apply to your use of it. These terms are between you and Al Ocaso Media only. Apple and Google are not parties to them, do not provide EarnPath, and are not responsible for the app, its content, or its support — questions and claims about EarnPath come to us.
10 Availability and changes to the service
EarnPath is built to keep working on your device without a connection, and to sync your records when you are back online. Even so, we do not promise that the app, the portal, or syncing will always be available, fast, or free of errors. They can be interrupted by maintenance, by problems with the providers EarnPath relies on, or by things outside our control.
EarnPath changes over time. We may add, change, or remove features, change what each plan includes, or stop offering the service. If we make a change that significantly reduces what a paid plan gives you, or we discontinue the service, we will give reasonable notice where we can, so that you can export your records and cancel.
11 No warranty
EarnPath is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, Al Ocaso Media makes no warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including that EarnPath will be accurate, uninterrupted, or fit for a particular purpose, or that its calculations, templates, or suggestions are correct for your situation. Some places do not allow certain warranties to be excluded, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
12 Limits on our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows:
- Al Ocaso Media is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, or for lost income, lost profits, lost data, or tax amounts, penalties, or interest, that arise from using or being unable to use EarnPath, or from relying on its numbers or suggestions.
- Al Ocaso Media’s total liability to you for all claims related to EarnPath is limited to the amount you paid for EarnPath in the 12 months before the event that gave rise to the claim.
These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law. Some places do not allow some of these limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
13 Suspending or closing an account
You can stop using EarnPath and delete your account at any time (Section 7). We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, that puts the service or other people at risk, or when the law requires it. Where it is reasonable, we will tell you first and give you a chance to export your records. Sections that by their nature should continue after an account ends — such as Sections 2, 8, 11, 12, and 15 — continue to apply.
14 Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when EarnPath changes or when the law does. The current version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top. If a change is significant, we will give you reasonable notice before it takes effect — for example, by email to the address on your account or with a notice in the app. If you keep using EarnPath after updated terms take effect, you accept them. If you do not agree, you can stop using EarnPath and delete your account.
15 General
- Applicable law. These terms are governed by the law that applies to this agreement. Nothing in them limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.
- The whole agreement. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Al Ocaso Media about EarnPath.
- If part of these terms does not hold. If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
- No waiver. If we do not enforce a part of these terms, that does not mean we give it up.
- Transfer. You may not transfer these terms to someone else. We may transfer them as part of a reorganization or a sale of EarnPath, and your rights under them stay the same.
